This edition of Owning Her Innocence introduced me to the smutty, sexy, taboo, and guilt-free style of writing Alexa Riley has become known for.

When I came across this little short-smut read, I was taken aback at the level of depth in the story as well as the level of heat....I was more than pleased with this unknown gem and kept coming back to Alexa's Amazon page for more. For about a year, nothing new came out, and then out of the blue Their Stepsister showed up. It was as if Alexa decided to write another one, just for$h*ts and giggles and realized that she had an audience. Slowly over the course of a month or two apart new books started showing up.

Alexa must have quit her day job to write so many different books. Although the heat levels and the plot lines tend to be similar, the players and locations and are different.

Alexa's taboo and menage books are my fave's. Her Shifters, Innocence, Buy Me, and Forced Submission books are my go to's when I need to be inspired. Like Ophelia Bell and her dragons, and other taboo books, Alexa Riley's books are a refreshing surprise in short erotica for women. I read them for the stories first then and let the erotica happen or not....like reading Playboy for the Articles, there is erotica built into the book and no one ever picked up a Playboy just for the articles.....

They are short reads, but substantial enough that you don't feel cheated. They all deliver in the OTT Alpha's HEA's, insta-love or committed relationships. She has a tendency to bring out the taboo and guilt-free it by the end when it turns out they are already in, or are about to become in a committed monogamous or poly-amorous relationship.

There are a lot of Kindle Unlimited books that have are straight erotica for inspiration, but they tend to be a bit one dimensional and flat. Sure they inspire, but they are hollow and basically leave a girl wishing that the book offered more than hollow porn. I wand to feel like I read a short, smutty book that had a plot and story line with a bit of depth along with the hot inspiration.


These little books are like gourmet cupcakes, each one is beautiful, sinful and decadent, you can only eat one or two at a time, there are unexpected, and delicious flavors. Some become instant favorites,you keep going back for more and others only need to be tried once. Each is different but can stand alone, and you may feel guilty about eating one, but you tell yourself it was a treat you don't indulge in everyday......

PS....All the Kindle Unlimited readers (pretty much all of us) should you side load the book from Kindle Unlimited, be sure to open it first on your Kindle app and go to the last page, so it is as if you read the whole book. This is how the authors who publish under KU get paid, by pages or books read.

Alexa...perhaps a supernatural, or sci-fi series? Vampires, Aliens, Demons, etc. Would love to see how you write a hero who isn't human and may be different than what we are used to.....

I've never read a DD/LG book before and was a little curious, so I thought why not. At first I was like 'what have a got myself in to?' But then it was just so over the top and I was sucked in. I just had to keep reading to find out what would happen next.

Haley is just too innocent for someone who just turn 18 that it wasn't believable. Daddy William is in a class of his own. But who cares? It makes for a a great story for a quick hot read. ( )
