The instruments introduced throughout this book included: The recorder, the clarinet, the saxophone, the bagpipe, the trumpet, the sousaphone, the violin, the cello, the acoustic guitar, the eclectic guitar, the piano, the pipe organ, the drums and cymbals, the tambourine, the xylophone, and the human voice.

Rosmarie Huasherr does an excellent job of describing each instrument in a way that is easily understood by young readers, while also including important historical facts. She includes photographs, both past and present, of individuals playing each instrument. The photographs that Rosmarie Huasherr includes throughout the book are wonderful resources for young students, as they provide a physical description for each instrument and also demonstrate how each instrument is played.
