With a more traditional look, I liked the combination between bilingualism, cooking and poetry. Although not a standout read. ( ) I liked this book for three reasons. First, I like the illustrations. On the borders of the pictures it showed the ingredients that the book was talking about. For example, on one picture when they were talking about spicy ingredients, there were peppers around the border. It helped to relate and connect the text to the illustration. Second, I liked the highlight of culture. The book mentioned their ancestors from the Aztecs, Mayans, and Nahua. Finally, I liked how the poetry book was bilingual. One stanza was in Spanish and the following stanza is the same, but translated in English. The use of Spanish also showed the culture and food and language are both big parts of culture. The theme of the book was how cooking brings a family together and preserves traditions. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
