Received an ARC for my fair review. It was a short story, and it wasn't bad, but I found that it really just was all about sex. Connor was hired to be her bodyguard, but he was obsessed with her, since the moment he saw her, and he knew that it was unprofessional and that he should not have taken the job, but he could not have walked away. Charlie, was insecure, because her last relationship, her fiance, cheated on her with her cousin, and of course, blamed her, stating that she no longer took care of herself (what a jerk). Charlie really took that to heart, I felt bad for her, and I really disliked her so called friend Melissa or Melinda (whatever , her PR person) I did not find her to be very friendly to Charlie, she was critical, and she also put her down, when they were at the bar, and then she was hitting on Connor. So you could see why she self conscious, however Conner was crazy about her, and loved all her curves. There was some backstabbing going on in her job, sabotaging, threats to her life, but eventually the culprits were caught. I did not like how it ended, but I am assuming they stayed in a relationship. ( )

Charlize Halifax aka Charlie is the president of her fathers company and is currently battling her Uncle for control, but someone is doing a hatchet job on Charlie and her reputation! But after an extremely stressful day, Charlie and Melanie took a break and went to a bar for a break…but after Melanie took off with a guy she hooked up with, his friend dumped Charlie like she was a Duff…but that give Charlie the confidence (or maybe it was the Alcohol) to go and ask the man that has been staring at her all night for a kiss, and even though he left her at the door, it won't be the last time she sees him again.

Conner Crowe has owned his own security (Crowe Security) for a long time, but when the undercover protection detail of Charlie came across his desk, he couldn't let anyone watch her, he became obsessed with her from the first look and after working covert security on Charlie for a month, his cover was completely blown when she came up and asked him for a kiss.

Both Conner and Charlie want more than just a quick hook up, but Charlie is in danger though, she was nearly kidnapped, hit by a car and her name smeared in the press and Charlie and she doesn't know who to trust! Can Conner show he is loyal to her, all the while keep her safe!

I have simply fallen in love with Amber Baden books! And coming from someone who really isn't a huge fan of Romantic suspense books! But the author makes the books not only thrilling and delicious, but her writing manages to get in to your head and never let go! And the story line! Wow!! Its panty wetting and nail biting all at the same time

I could honestly go on and on about just how much I love Charlie and Conner! I love Conner's alpha male approach to keeping Charlie safe and I love Charlie's compassion for everyone she works with, my only comment is to ask for a little more back story on Charlie's father and Uncle, other than that its darn near perfect! I'm just hoping that Melanie gets her own book too!

OMG! Hot hero alpha male and strong female lead. Yes this is the book for one. It's nice to find a strong female lead, no that won't take no shit from no one, not even the man who she may be falling for.

There was a bit of everything is this book; romance, heat, hot sex, mystery and suspense. I loved it all and it kept me hooked that I read it in one sitting.

Conner and Charlize were one hot couple. While some parts of their relationship moved a bit fast for my liking, it was easily over looked by the what was happening in the rest of the story. They felt real enough that maybe their relationship was moving at the right speed for them and no parts had being skipped over just to make the story shorter.

The whole mystery of who-done-it had me guessing til and very end. I totally didn't see who it was til it was revealed. Bonus, I don't really care when the story gives it away too early. What's the point of reading the rest when you know what's going to happen.

If you want some hot to read with a bit of mystery and suspense, then I would be recommended this for you. ( )
