Cassie Hack, the former slasher hunter returns in this volume to stop a cult of evil monsters.

This was a quick read with a not too complicated story even though as this is the first volume I have read starring Cassie Hack there was a lot of back story that made me wish that I had more knowledge. But anyway it was mostly non stop action, the monsters need to be stopped and Cassie and her new found partners, Delroy and October are more than happy doing that.

So if you are looking for a graphic novel, with quite good art, ugly monsters, a kick ass heroine and lots of action? Then, my friend this one is for you!

As I started reading this I felt like I was missing something and in fact I was. I have never read Hack/Slash before and even though this is considered to be a standalone story arc, I still felt I was missing something. This was an ok read, which means I finished it and I wouldn't mind reading the original Hack/Slash, but I can't say it is anything amazing. It felt very standard. Girl with a sad backstory fights monsters. Throw in an old guy who has been there and done that and a young kid to look up to her and hopefully they can all save the world together. It was easy enough to follow, the artwork was decent, but I wouldn't say there was anything to just go Wow over. Adults interested in monsters, gore, and scantily clad women with no personalities may enjoy this. ( )
