In matters of the heart it is easy for to inflict pain. This is one of those stories where both characters made stupid decisions and hurt each other in the process. At the Count's Bidding by Caitlin Crews was a good read, but a dark story. Paige made a stupid decision that cost her the man she loved Giancarlo has never forgiven her for the betrayal and wants her to pay. When he discovers she is working for his mother he blackmails her. His goal is revenge, he wants to make her pay. But unexpected circumstances and exposed secrets start to make him question his motives. Does he really want to lose her again? This is an intriguing read. ( )
