This story will for sure make it into my classroom library if I teach about the stone age. The pictures were very vibrant and filled with color and expression. The story takes place in France when the Time Trekkers find a cave. They go explore it and find paintings on the walls. They were so intrigued that the Tie Trekkers jumped into a time machine and went to discover the stone age themselves. They found the different kinds of tribes. They also found the Mesopotamian time ad then to the bronze age. I think the setting plays a major part in this story because without knowing what time period or area the story took place in we would not have a clear understanding on the Stone Age period. ( ) This story starts with the Time Trekkers camping out in France and found a cave that had paintings on the walls. This curiosity ended up with the Trekkers going back in time to get to see what the living conditions were back then. They all jumped into their time machine and went back to the stone age. They were able to hide and watch the people and how they interacted in their own world but eventually were "sniffed out" and found. They stayed with the tribe for a while and then decided to move on. They traveled around and found different tribes and types of people and ended in a cave where someone was painting on the walls. After they encounter this man, they decide that it is time to try a different time period. They travel to the Mesopotamian time and then to the Bronze age. After all of these adventures, they decide to go back home and get to appreciate what they have. The Time Trekkers visited a prehistoric cave, but wanted to see what it would be like to live there first hand so they got in their time machine and went back in time to the stone age. They went back to the stone age seeing the Homo habils, prehistoric animals, nomadic hunters, hunter gatherers, the first villages, and more! The got to go on an adventure discovering so many things about the Stone Age. Whenever they had a question their Gizmo would read their questions and answer them with factual information. The questions were set in bubbles and the Gizmo was off to the bottom of the page. The illustrations were beautiful and I loved the facial expressions. I loved this book on the Stone Age because it wasn't a dry, boring book about it, it was adventurous and fun as if I were on the adventure with the Time Trekkers. I would use this book in my class when teaching about the Stone Age. I would read it aloud and students have students pick one interesting topic out of the book to research about and complete a project on. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
