Wow. I very seldom read a book that takes so much effort in covering the long-term effects of rape, abortion, PTSD, and Post-Abortion Stress Syndrome. The characters are beautifully weaved into each other's lives. I found it interesting how the author set up this one scene where Rick is unable to understand how anyone could voluntarily just walk into a clinic and abort her baby. He is pro-life to the core. Sheila, on the other hand, gave me the impression that she couldn't understand how anyone could possibly want to go through with this. She's very much pro-choice. But as you continue reading the story, you come to understand why they've dug in their heels in their stances.

Although I gave the book excellent ratings, I just can't see myself keeping it because it's much too emotionally charged for me. It's an excellent read and I hope you enjoy it as well. ( )

I had trouble keeping the characters straight. There didn't seem to be enough characterization for me to separate them from one another. ( )
