Fiction. Literature. Romance. Suspense. HTML:A beautiful computer hacker and a bad-boy FBI agent must collaborate—in more ways than one—in this sexy, suspenseful novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Julie Garwood.
Allison Trent doesn't look like a hacker. In fact, when she's not in college working on her degree, she models on the side. But behind her gorgeous face is a brilliant mind for computers and her real love is writing—and hacking—code. Her dream is to write a new security program that could revolutionize the tech industry.
Hotshot FBI agent Liam Scott has a problem: a leak deep within his own department. He needs the skills of a top-notch hacker to work on a highly sensitive project: to secretly break into the FBI servers and find out who the traitor is. But he can't use one of his own. He finds the perfect candidate in Allison. Only, there's one problem—she wants nothing to do with his job and turns him down flat.
What Liam doesn't know is that Allison is hiding secrets that she doesn't want the FBI to uncover. But Liam will do nearly anything to persuade her to join his team, even break a few rules if that's what it takes. A temptation that could put his job—and both of their futures—on the line...

Off to a good start. Strong female lead and then it went downhill quickly.
Including mensplaining, helpless-female syndrome, men nocht listening to women and so on ... ( )

For reasons I can't comprehend, the author starts "head-hopping" in the seventh chapter. (Head-hopping is when a scene starts out in one POV character's head, but then hops to the other one, and back, and... This is terrible editing. I usually encounter this big a screw-up much further on in a poorly edited novel. ...Aaaand, I'm out.

DNF at chapter 9, more head-hopping. Too bad. I liked the characters well enough. The chemistry was pretty flat, though, which is about 30% of the reason I'm bailing now. I don't know why readers put up with this, particularly this far into a series. You'd think if it's the same writer, they'd become better at writing. ( )

This was a pretty good read. I'm only giving it three stars because it didn't grab me and then keep me enthralled the entire read. It was good and I did finish it without a problem. Liked the story and the characters, just didn't full on grab me the way some of Julie Garwood's other books have in the past. ( )

Have read a lot of Julie Garwood books and must say i like her style. Wired was also good. However not one of my favorites.
I think the hacking part, computers and all was not put across in a very believable manner. Probably Garwood doesn't have too much background in IT or some research on this was missing a bit but something was missing.
The uncle and aunt and the heroine constantly taking abuse from them also was not at all believable. Not for the way the character was portrayed and the relationship between her and her uncle/aunt was portrayed.
That said it was still an enjoyable , casual read. ( )
