The little bird is hatching! Everyone is rushing to see the main event. This is not to be missed - everyone's buzzing about it! With cameras in tow, various animals hop into cars, motorcycles, wagon trailers - anything that will get them there intime to see the event unfold. Finally, with the crowd gathered around, a crack appears in the eggshell and out comes - well, not quite what they expected. The disappointed crowd complains and sulks out. The hatchling reveals his little trick to readers. He has outsmarted the crowd! And for good reason, he thinks: you just can't hatch in peace these days. This funny, surprising, and lightly satirical early picture book captures the hype of a highly anticipated event. Able to be read and enjoyed on multiple levels, Hatch, Little Egggently mocks the join-the-hype mentality. It will be especially relatable for children expecting a younger sibling, while amusing adults with its subtle nod to celebrity culture.… (mais)

Lesson: Don't judge a book by its cover
Everyone was excited expecting the egg to hatch. The anticipation is so high. Out pops a pig? Then, the pig takes off its costume and is a baby chick after all!

Everyone races to see the egg when its about to hatch. When the egg finally does hatch, a pig comes out! everyone is disappointed to see the pig. When everyone leaves, the pig takes off a costume and reveals his true self. The moral of the story is he does things his way. kinder -3rd ( )

This adorably illustrated book was about a town full of all different kinds of animals. There was reindeer, birds, lions, mice anything you could think of. Then one day a little pig was hatched and the town was not impressed. The pig was sad by the way the town had reacted to his anticipated reveal. Then at the end of the book the pig took off his body suit and turned into a chick.
It was a bit of a confusing text but for the most part taught children not to have prejudice and judge people by first appearance. I think this is especially important in this day and age when people are so quick to judge.
