This is the first novel in another big-family-from-Texas series by Nicole Edwards. Ms Edwards introduces us to five sisters and their widowed father running the family dude ranch. There is a prequel novella to this series (Boots Optional) and, while it does give a pre-book-One introduction, particularly to the early days of Grace's, Grant's and Lane's relationship, it is not required reading for this story.

If you are not familiar with Nicole Edwards, particularly as it relates to her two other series (Club Destiny or Alluring Indulgence), Ms Edwards writes series with big families, highlighting a different person/sibling in each book. Both her men and her women are intelligent, capable, strong, sensitive and insatiable. The loving relationships she creates include varied ccouples -- "traditional" heterosexuals as well as bisexuals, and homosexuals. If you are not comfortable with menage situations or polyamorous relationships, pick your Nicole Edwards book carefully, as you can find what suits you among her writings. Know that all of the relationships she creates are of loving, open, deeply caring individuals with insatiable appetites -- if you crave more drama and less bedroom (or bathroom or kitchen or sofa or up against the wall or....) scenes, you just might need to move on to another author. Don't fault the author if you are not comfortable with what she writes.

If you are familiar with Nicole Edwards, you will find little new to this series -- yes, this is only book 1, but it is very similar in feel, pace and story line as the other series. If you like the familiar, you'll like this. If you're looking for something fresh or different, it is not here, yet. While we know that Curtis and Laura Walker have a deeply loving relationship, in this series, it is quite possible that the Dad, Jerry, might get his own book -- a very nice addition since, I, for one, would like to read of an "older" couple working it out!

I received a copy of this audiobook in exchange for a review through Audiobook Jukebox. The audio version of this 300 page book ran about 10 and a half hours and is narrated by Vanessa Edwin, J D Franklin and Gus Evans. They did a fine job with their accents, pace, emotion and alternate voices (while this book is written in three points of view, each narrator's POV calls on having a voice for the other two POVs and each handled this well.)
