He can stand on popcorn boxes and read newspapers! Luckily he comes across a girl named Dot and they hang out all afternoon and Ted finally finds his perfect place. Very cute illustrations. The second-last page especially made me snort aloud. Reading “A Perfect Place for Ted” was quite enjoyable. I liked this book because of the plot, the writing, and what it pushes the reader to think about while reading. Since the big idea of this book is that although sometimes we feel invisible, if we continue to try new things then we will find the perfect place for us even if it is not what we originally thought we would want. When it comes to the plot of this book, I was quite impressed. It was easy to follow and it kept me interested the whole time. The conflict was brought up right away, that spot wasn’t being noticed. Then the fact that he then went to a circus kept me interested because a dog at a circus has to be something to see. Once I found out that Ted wasn’t being noticed there, I became interested in where he would belong so I became invested in the book, which I could most certainly see small children doing as well. Along with the plot, I loved the writing style of this book. There are few complicated words mixed in with the easier words, making it not too difficult for young children to read but giving them some harder words to learn, such as “Ted looked sensational”. Most children would not know the word sensational right of the bat but having that harder word nicely placed amongst easier words such as “bubbles” or “entered” allows the reader to read without being frustrated. Lastly, I would like to comment on the way this book makes the reader think. While I was reading this book, I noticed all the different things Ted wasn’t very good at or all the times he wasn’t being noticed and how he didn’t let that bother him. He just decided to go on and try sometime new, which is an amazing lesson for children. Along with trying something new, it was insightful that even though Ted thought he might belong at all these normal dog places (dog pageant, circus, working as a guard dog), he ended up living with a whole bunch of cats. It’s an interested thought that sometimes we are perfect in the place we would least expect. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha

The second page from the end has a moment that is so unexpected and hilariously drawn that I just LOST IT. The expression on the.....”characters”...faces on that page just got me for some reason. I don’t even know if a kid reading this book would find it as funny as I did?? But that’s just my sense of humor I guess so between the dogs and the laughs, I officially love this little book! ( )
