Cleary and Martin Goneau work great together to demonstrate different homonyms and homophones. Homophones are words that have the same spelling but mean different things. Cleary does a good job in this book to give great examples of those. Where Goneau illustrates how the two words mean completely different things. This would be a good book to read to younger middle school students in their English class. This book gives a humorous approach to how things could be interpreted if we do not look for the context clues around the word. After reading this book, students could think of their own homophones and then illustrate them like this book has done. ( )
