The spelling, grammar and copy-editing of this book is atrocious and a lot of the stories are just re-hashed. However, there are some gems in there. The section named atrocities reveals more than I ever knew about historical and political murder. There were the Germans with the holocaust, including a very good insight of the thoughts and processes of the unfortunate people of the Warsaw ghetto as well as others such as The Rape of Nanking, the mass killing of the Native Americans at Wounded Knee, Tianenmen Square and The Gassing of the Kurds. We, in our country are not excluded from this book with an account of The Bombing of Dresden. On the whole, it is a frank and detailed description of just how low we humans can get. ( )
