Even though this is officially a Young Adult book, it was enjoyable to read about this young mountain climber who climbed the worlds tallest mountains before he even was eligible for a driver's license! ( )

This is a fun read, and surprisingly, it really doesn't get boring to read about 8 different mountain trips. ( )

My first grandson at age 12 insisted that I read this book. I did and enjoyed it so much that I read it in one day. It was awesome that Jordan got the support of his father, Karen, and what may have been somewhat reluctant support of his mother. It was neat that he had two adults who supported him in his goal.

I especially liked that his next mission was to persuade other youth to believe in and achieve their goals. ( )

No Summit Out of Sight, is a book about Jordan Romero, who was the youngest person to ever climb the 7 (plus one) summits of the world. He completed this by age fifteen. The first mountain he climbed was Kilimanjaro, in Africa. He did not have any problems with this. When they got back they continued his training, which included dragging a tire up and down the driveway from a rope. The next mountain was really just a tall hill, Mount Kosciusko, in Australia. He also climbed this without a problem. He climbed all of the mountains after this but two, Everest and Vinson. When he decides to climb Everest there were lots of arguments about this like whether he was old enough or had enough experience. In the end he was allowed to climb and he did. However about halfway up he ended up in a small avalanche that they thankfully survived. They made it up to the top and had a easy enough climb down. The last mountain, Vinson, had an age limit of 18, therefore there was no debate, he could not climb it. However when he turned 15 they were able to get a permit and he climbed up it. When he got down he had officially climbed the 7 (plus one) summits!

I thought this book was okay. It was written by the Jordan, who was the person who climbed the summits so that was nice. However the book was obviously written to teach lessons For instance, "A lot of people don't make it to the top of the mountains I have trained hard and with the same training anybody can do it" and "We see so trash littering the hike as we go up so we pick it up" Which can sometimes be annoying. Otherwise the book was fine, it was a short read and I would recommend it for people who are doing there Library Thing last minute ( )

I heard only my labored breathing and the crunch of my crampons biting into the snow as I traversed a nearly vertical slope on the north face of Mount Everest.
Chapter 1
