In DUE JUSTICE, Judge Carson is reluctantly drawn into the mystery surrounding a body found floating in Tampa Bay when her 'sister' confesses to knowing the body's identity. As the circumstances leading up to the murder are uncovered, Willa is confronted with the question of how far she is prepared to stretch legal boundaries to protect someone she loves. A fast-paced.novel full of intrigue and twists keep the reader wondering who did what to whom and why they did throughout the story.
In TWISTED JUSTICE, Judge Willa Carson is dealing with a husband she doesn't recognise, a crumbling marriage and the very real possibility that her husband will be jailed for a crime he did not commit. This is a slow moving story heavily punctuated with Willa's ruminations about her husband's behaviour and their future. The repetitiveness and inconclusive nature of these thoughts became tedious rather than illustrating Willa's justified frustration at being deliberately kept in the dark. I also found the 'mystery' to be rife with disappointingly predictable stereotypes. Despite these deficiencies, the novel examines a number of contemporary social and important relationship issues making it a worthwhile read.
Set during Tampa’s annual Gasparilla Pirate Festival, SECRET JUSTICE, entwines the hedonistic party attitude of the revelers with the greed of the social elite. Judge Willa Carson is drawn into attempting to solve two murders when her long-time secretary and friend, Margaret Wheaton, is accused of the crimes. This complicated tale of deceit and corruption is further complicated by the arrival of Willa's estranged step-father with his beautiful, young trophy wife. Willa's investigation navigates a tightrope of impropriety given that one of the murdered is the defendant in the case currently before her court. The convoluted twists in this fast-paced story keep the reader wondering what secrets are yet to be revealed.
I recommend this compendium to connoisseurs of the Whodunnit genre.
