This book is about a sparrow that finds a dandelion whose last 10 seedpods are about to blow away. The dandelion asks the sparrow to write her story down so she will be remembered, and the sparrow gladly scratched the story in the dirt. Unfortunately, a storm that night blows both the dandelion and her story away, so all that is left of her is the memories she shared with the sparrow. A couple days later, 10 little dandelions pop up, encircling the spot in which the old dandelion grew. The sparrow, knowing these are her children, tells them the dandelion’s story, and they pass it on and on to their kids and their kids’ kids, etc. This, I thought, was a beautiful story about the power of spoken stories and the memory of one lost. A Dandelion's Tale is a very sweet story about a friendship between a little sparrow and a dandelion. The dandelion's knew that her time was coming and that she won't last much longer. Her seedpods are slowly falling. Her only wish was to be remembered. The sparrow figured out a way to help out her friend by sharing her stories to to other and especially to the dandelion's children. He made sure that the dandelion would never be forgotten. I love this book because it show the power of a good friend. Also, this is an excellent book to show students a good way to handle a situation when losing someone close, such as a friend or a family member. It show kids that even when they're no longer in your present, you can still keep them in memory and share their stories to other. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
A sparrow selflessly relates Dandelion's story to the world in this tale of friendship, the power of memories, and the cycle of life. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
