Still holds up fairly well, except for one pet name BoJo uses for xxx that is totally out of character for a scared but honorable 17 year old high schooler. ( ) I have read this book more than once with the first time being years ago. This was written in the late 1960's when teenage pregnancy was dealt with much differently than it is today. That being said, the feelings of the characters are real and would likely be similar to young people who find themselves in a similar situation now. When July realizes she is pregnant, everything changes for Bo Jo and her. They decide to get married. When they tell their parents, no one is happy. The couple must find a way to navigate their new life together and grow up fast - even though they are only 16 and 17. Being pregnant means July can't attend high school and Bo Jo loses his chance at a football scholarship when he leaves school to work. The lifestyle in the book felt dated. The couple must decide if they can go back to their old lives and leave the marriage behind or if they want to continue on together, despite the struggles they may have. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
