Did find it a little confusing in the way it conflicts with calorie counting, but I like the idea of it and love the sugar free recipes, since I have a hard time with my sweet tooth. ( ) I didn’t really relate to Sarah Wilson as in her life before giving up sugar she didn’t consume much anyway. I would have liked to read success stories of people that drank loads of Coca Cola or ate cakes and cookies in vast portions and see them tackle a sugar detox program. I feel this book is targeted more to people that have already embraced ‘clean’ eating and want to experiment even more. 8-week plan for severe restriction of sugar. This looks like a (beautifully packaged) diet fad, and for some people it may be, but Sarah's actually got multiple autoimmune diseases that require her to limit her sweeteners. Others looking to do this may find this helpful, especially if they lack the positive support network to know that they're not alone. MEH. It was ok, full pages of pictures, 60% if not more of the book are her recipes, which I don't bother with as I am not much of a cook, full pages of big print on tips, little asides in boxes. Did not learn anything I hadn't read in the 3 prior books on learning how to live sugar free. Very little info as with the former books on how to really make this work well if you are a vegan. So it has some value, but I am awfully glad I just took it out of the library and did not blow $ 25 on it. She has a free website by the way, so I really did not even need this book, I just thought the book would be more comprehensive than her website. I was wrong. After finding that I am a diabetic. I was challenged to read a book about Health in my group that I actually picked up and read. I have to say. This struggle is real and for me this book did nothing to even push me in the right directions.
