I'm not 100% sure how I felt about this story. I like the idea of SEAL Team 666, I like the way the chupacabras were used, but I'm just not sure I'm interested in this "military" of a story. Government ops, patriot militias, cartels, all of that is just not something I'd normally be interested in reading about. So while I enjoyed the story, the series is probably going to be not for me. (

"Border Dogs" is a short story that fills some space between Ochse first and second books in his "Seal Team 666" series. The story follows an undercover operation chasing down a series of what appear to be Chupacaba attacks along the Mexican border. Ochse is a terrifically descriptive writer and seems to know his military stuff very well. A few characters from his novel appear in this story, but none stand out.

You'll enjoy this story if you like Ochse's military-supernatural themes. (
