( ) I was looking forward to this book because I like the author and I liked the first Nodaway Falls book. This one is a great follow up to A Little Night Magic, and the world is consistent with a magic that seems everyday. Normally, I have no reservations about giving 5 stars to Lani’s work, and a lot of people will do it, but I have to say I was hoping that the other guy would turn out to be the love of her life. It’s apparent pretty quickly who is The Guy, but I couldn’t like him. It’s a fun romance and the magic is important to the story. I enjoyed listening to the narration, and the overall story was great. One of the things I like about romance is the possibility of redemption in any situation. If you enjoy a fun romance with a lot of redemption, you’ll like this one. Listened for Fun (Audible) Overall Rating: 3.75 Story Rating: 3.50 Character Rating: 3.75 Audio Rating: 4.50 (not part of the overall rating) First Thought when Finished: That Touch of Magic had a strong second half and really great characters. I had fun! Story Thoughts: That Touch of Magic was slow to start but had a very strong second half. The story did a kind of zigzag that kept you wondering exactly where Lucy March was heading. I did like that I couldn't quite predict where the story was going to end up or exactly how Stacy was going to get herself out of trouble. This read a bit more like an Urban Fantasy than a PNR which was both good and bad. I thought the action side of the story was good but the romance was a little lacking to me. Character Thoughts: I really liked Stacy. She is a different kind of leading lady. She wasn't perfect by a long shot! She had spunk but that sometimes got her into trouble. She had gumption but that sometimes got her into spots that her mouth couldn't handle. She had magic but not control of it. In other words, she was just a normal girl that got thrown some pretty freaking crazy stuff! Leo was an OK leading guy. I actually liked him but it wasn't until the very end that I felt any chemistry between the two of them. I was actually more invested in the "bad guy". I do hope he gets a redemption story. Audio Thoughts: Narrated By Amanda Ronconi / Length: 9 hrs and 38 mins Amanda Ronconi is fantastic! I don't think I have ever been disappointed with her narration. If you get a chance to listen to her, make sure that you do! Final Thoughts: I am patiently waiting for the next in the series. Overall these are fun and great to listen too! sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha

Stacy Easter has seen better days. Being a librarian is a labor of love - if only paying her bills were half as much fun. What's a single, bookish beauty in sleepy Nodaway Falls, New York, supposed to do? To make ends meet, Stacy decides to develop her special...powers. Everyone can use a touch of magic now and then, right? Soon she's got clients lining up to receive her signature potions - until a few of them go awry. Meanwhile, her own life has just taken a storybook turn: Leo North, the official One Who Got Away, is back in town. Stacy's best friends Peach and Liv are more concerned about the state of her heart than the side effects of a few rogue magic spells. But someone with dark intentions is crossing magical wires all over Nodaway Falls, and those closest to Stacy are at risk. Can Stacy conjure up a way out of this mess with her life - and maybe even her love life - intact? Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
