Summers in the seaside town of Noquit Maine are quiet and relaxing. . . unless you find a mysterious dead body, a hunky ex-boyfriend shows up and you start getting instructions from ghostly relatives. That's exactly what happens to Morgan Blackmoore. Suddenly, she finds herself in a race against time as she's launched into a dangerous treasure hunt that pits her against modern day pirates who think she has the key to a three-hundred-year-old secret. To complicate matters, even more, one of her sisters keeps talking to the ghost of their dead grandmother, another has crystals with unusually powerful healing properties and her cat has an uncanny habit of showing up in exactly the right place at exactly the right time. Not to mention that her ex-boyfriend, Luke Hunter, suddenly shows up in town after ten years of being overseas and claims to want to help her fight off these deadly pirates, but Morgan finds herself fighting her attraction to him instead. Will Morgan outwit the treasure hunters and find the real killer before Sheriff Overton puts her in jail? And what about Luke, is he really a good guy or just after the treasure himself?… (mais)

i like this series, but the way they refer to coffee in these books is laughable. as an avid coffee lover I can't imagine anyone thinking of it in the manor this girl does. it's like coffee memes gone wild.

also. the epilogue use is an interesting touch. ( )

I'd rank this one somewhere between 'it's ok' and 'I liked it'. Very, very light cozy mystery - with some pirates (kind of) thrown in to fund the story line. I find the Sheriff more than a bit unbelievable; even in a small town he wouldn't get away with pretty much constant illegal searches, harassment and arrests. Hopefully Ms. Dobbs will back off on that in the future.

The sisters have some magical abilities, and each book seems to have a romantic relationship for one of the sisters going on. Not sex, just romance, which is fine by me.

I read it in a couple hours. Again, very light easy read :) ( )

This series is okay and I like the slow exposition of the sister's abilities but I am already tired of the villain Sheriff who makes no sense and gets away with stuff and no one seems to do anything about him. One excellent cop from Boston just behaves like a rookie cop afraid of his boss and the other ex-special forces doesn't use his skills or contacts to squash him like a bug. He should have had his comeuppance in this book and I dread finding he remains a thorn all through another book.
