This is really good! I don't think I've ever enjoyed a team superhero book since the heydays of the X-men. This is so much better than that. Valiant is trying to accomplish a lot more than another Marvel/DC retread and succeeding. ( )
The second volume was even better than the first, and I love the characters that make up the renegade group. The diversity of women, and men, and the different life circumstances of each character make for a complex and intriguing world. The plot isn't anything especially unique, but the characters really drive the story. Big thumbs up from me! ( )
This TPB brings together issues 6 through 10 of the comic. This story arc features the forming of The Team, and an interesting bunch they are. Somewhat more bloodthirsty than I like my fiction, but it appears to be shaping up to being a story of the apocalypse, so not really a surprise.
Still mostly enjoying the series -- I've invested in the TPBs up to volume 5. ( )
