Reviewed by Kim for Read Your Writes Book Reviews www.readyourwries.blogspot.com This is my first Katee Robert's book. I've checked her out on Facebook and she writes some pretty hot things and she has a great sense of humor. I love the premise of this book. You have two people who each have some issues but manage to find a way to resolve those issues together. Ian is a great guy who is chasing after the one woman who understands him and actually, cheesy as it sounds, completes him. He literally knocks Roxanne off her feet. Roxanne's issue is sorta like your classic romance novel issue. She doesn't believe in love and thinks it only leads to heartbreak. I mean hey, what's a girl to do? It's not like she has a good track record with the whole " I love you" thing. Her mother doesn't help things, with her own three failed marriages. Hey, how about maybe you just weren't with the one person you were meant to spend the rest of your life with. While I'm on the topic of mothers. Oh my gosh... Poor Ian and Ellie. Their mom is miserable and just wants to make everyone as miserable as she is. I swear, she made me want to jump through the book and let her know what her place actually was. I loved this story because Ian and Roxanne bring out the best in each other. They truly make the other a better person and own and stand up to their issues. Oh and yeah, of course the sex which is HOT isn't bad either. I'm really excited that I discovered a new author to read and I can't wait to find out what else she has in store for us. Source: NetGalley Chasing Mrs. Right is an intense romance with bits of humor and heart-warming moments. Roxanne refuses to give love a chance, while Ian just wants time to adjust to civilian life. Both have issues they need to overcome, but can they do that while exploring such a passionate connection they share? Ian has just returned home after his final stint in the military. The only thing he wants to do is figure out his future while rehabbing his house. He’d prefer his family to leave him alone while he makes the necessary adjustments to life. Unfortunately, they can’t do that. After running from his welcome home party, Ian smacks into Roxanne. Their chemistry is instant, and they immediately raise the heat. Once Roxanne realizes that Ian is her best friend’s older brother, things get complicated fast. Katee Robert writes fast-paced, hot romances with humor woven through the serious bits. It’s easy to suspend reality as these two characters struggle to find a place in each other’s world. I love Wrong Bed, Right Guy, and Chasing Mrs. Right lives up to its predecessor in style and plot. Love at first sight? Yeah, sure. What does a one night stand have to do with true love especially when you’re scared to death that ‘LOVE’ is just a straight path to being hurt again? Roxanne Stokes is invited to her best friend’s older brother’s coming home party. After two tours of duty, Ian has his own share of stress related issues to deal with and his family isn’t exactly bending over to help him heal. A chance meeting for the two lead to much more than anyone would expect. Roxanne’s bad break ups and her mother’s lifetime of failed relationships taint her view of a real relationship. She fully intends to follow her one night stand rule. Ian knows without a doubt that this delightfully playful woman calms his inner turmoil. His need for her grows throughout the story. He realizes there has to be a reason for her quirky standoffish behavior and knows he’s got to get to the bottom of it before she’ll open up to him. Their dysfunctional families add to the mix and provide insight into their weaknesses. Thankfully Ian and Roxanne have wonderful friends that have their best interests at heart and give sound advice. Katee Roberts has created an erotic love story that moves from hot to sultry as Ian and Roxanne’s relationship grows through the tale. It is definitely a book that is hard to put down, and a fan or two would be very helpful while reading. In the beginning, I wasn't at all sure about this one, but by the time I was about a third of the way in, I was hooked! I ended up really enjoying Ian and Roxanne's story. I'd just finished a story with a whole lot of absolutely ridiculous internal dialogue, so reading Ian and Rox's was a breath of fresh air. They had issues--major issues--which actually had basis in realism. I didn't always agree with what they were thinking, but it made sense for their characters, and they worked through their issues as the story progressed. There was a bit of insta-love here, but it worked for this reader. And the chemistry? Definitely hot! It didn't hurt that the hero was a former Marine, either. ;) I haven't read the first in the series, but after reading this one it's definitely on my TBR list--as is Nathan's story, due out this summer. It was only supposed to last one night…Roxanne Stokes doesn't believe in love. She does, however, believe in the sexy-as-sin stranger who literally knocks her off her feet in front of a nightclub. The chemistry sparking between them takes her breath away, and she'll do anything to ease the pain in his eyes-until she realizes the handsome stranger is her best friend's older brother who's just come home from war. Ian Walser had no idea the gorgeous woman he slept with the night of his homecoming party was his little sister's best friend-or that she'd be gone before morning. Roxanne's touch soothes him in a way nothing else can, and he's not ready to walk away from that yet. Not when spending time with her gave him a glimpse of everything he's ever wanted. When his sister unwittingly pushes them together, he sees his chance. But convincing a woman who doesn't believe in love that she's his Mrs. Right might be harder than any mission Ian's undertaken. Good thing this soldier likes a challenge. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
