Summary: Three little pigs are older and they search to build homes of their own. The first little pig builds it out of straw; the second little pig builds a stronger house built out of sticks. The third little pig wanted his house to be stronger so he built his out of bricks and his house took the longest to build. The wolf starts to search for the pigs to eat them, he blows own the first two houses easily and eats them. The house of bricks could not be blown down. The wolf tries to find different ways to get the pig but the pig outsmarts him.
Personal Reaction: It was a great story but, I felt the illustration could have been better. The kids responded well to this book and it has situations that are fun and giggle-worthy.
Classroom extension ideas:
1. Talk about what the wolf’s side of the story may be and write a story from the wolf’s point of view.
2. Have a class discussion about what may have happened if everyone tried harder to build their houses stronger and how hard work has paid off for one pig in this story.
