Review forthcoming To summarize, the story was nice and engaging enough, but the lack of Lance's POV and the rushed and easy ending ruined it for me. I liked Danny (even though he's a bitch sometimes). I liked that he didn't allow people to walk over him and did so loudly. And what's more important, he did so especially where Lance was concerned. I even liked him when he was self-pitying and miserable. On the other hand, I think it was a mistake there was no Lance POV. I couldn't connect with him. I mean, sure, Danny told me Lance was sweet and caring and fun. Danny told me they had things to talk about when they were not boinking each others' brains out. But I never saw that (though we witnessed the bonking often enough). All I was shown of Lance's personality is that he's horny and that he's a very selfish lover. In fact, the one time he wasn't a selfish lover was when he was dumped and was trying to get Danny back. And then (and I was really happy about this) he was dumped anyways. After that, we skip three whole years (and that was the writer taking the easy way out). Lance begs Danny to come back. So I think to myself "Ooooh super. Make him beg Danny. Make him crawl. Make him prove to you he's changed. And then fuck his brains out and have a HEA." But it turns out Lance didn't have anything to lose. His dream of being an NFL star was cut short due to injury, so the primary reason why he didn't want to out himself to be with Danny just... disappeared. And wasn't that convenient? And then we skip a year more, in which Lance came out publicly. We hear it was kinda tough via Danny but we see nothing of it. The end. Yay. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
Danny Marshal has always lived his life out loud, but his androgynous appearance is only a small part of who he is. One night at a frat party, Danny meets Lance Lenard, football jock and apparent straight guy. Lance is shocked when he's immediately attracted to Danny's feminine side. Danny is happy to be the subject of Lance's first man-on-man experimentâuntil Lance begins to struggle with the fact that despite his appearance, Danny is indeed a man. Lance's whole life has been focused on his goal of playing in the NFL, and he knows those dreams will be smashed if anyone finds out about his little secret. Although Lance has grown to crave Danny's touch, he's not willing to give Danny what he's grown to crave: a boyfriend who's proud to love him for every flamboyant and snarky cell in his body. Life sends Danny and Lance in different directions, each of them focused on his respective Plan A. But the best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry.
