Was nice ( )

Read this in one day. A few decades ago, this would have been mainstream, not YA. It has the momentum of Edgar Rice Burroughs with modern sensitivity in characterizations. All in 207 pages. Take that, you blathering turgid fantasy tome authors.

Oddly, both the Palo Alto and Mountain View libraries only have this volume and not the following one, so I'm using interlibrary loan to get Court Duel. I can't wait. ( )

First Read:
Hard to figure out what is happening. I had to wait for the brief explanation in second book before I really understood much of anything.


Second Read: Definitely an action book.

I really liked this, would have liked to see a neater but slightly more drawn out ending but otherwise a fun book. ( )
