I like this book because it shows shapes that are related to Hispanic people, and students may enjoy it because of the cultural. I would recommend using this book for an introduction into shapes. ( ![]() This family-friendly and fun picture book is a great read to introduce basic math concepts and cultural awareness. Pictures of shapes and their properties are shown using beautifully illustrated pictures of foods and drinks from Latin origins, as well as Spanish vocabulary that will be good for kids to know. This picture book can be a fun introduction to properties of polygons and having students recognize these shapes to make real-world connections in class. This is a bilingual book of shapes that rhymes. Spanish translations are listed on the same page. It teaches some Spanish words by inference of pictures. The setting is Mexican town. This is a book that has many features to engage the reader, as well is it does a really good job of shining a light on Hispanic culture. Each page of the book talks about shapes, which can be a teaching tool for children to read the book and learn what different shapes are and examples of those shapes. There were also engaging activities for the reader to do, for instance; on one page the author asks the reader to count how many rectangles they can find in the illustration which is something that little kids would get really excited about. Additionally, this book also shows the reader about a lot of aspects of Hispanic culture. It shows the reader different foods the Hispanic people might make and different thing specific to their culture. Another really cool feature is that each page also had a Spanish word in the text. This gets the reader familiar with Spanish and words that are from another culture. Thankfully, there are definitions of the Spanish words provided in the back of the book for people that don't really know what they mean. This book was a very good read and it would be a great addition to any classroom! A book of shapes that take Latino origin items and relates them to shapes. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
