Nancy and Bree play "cupid" and try to set up two teenagers, Andy and Annie! Lots of talk about falling in love, secret admirers, and finding eternal love. Might be a bit over the heads of some young readers. ( ) This series is cute and worth checking out. I have to give a higher rating to the first book over this one (it was really good). The first one contained a great sleuth type mystery...this book leans heavily on a valentines-love is in the air-get people to fall in love theme with very little sleuthing or mystery. I think for the age group it is just a bit too mushy gushy for my tastes. That being said the romance was tame and the ending was appropriate. We will definitely be on the look out for more in this series - but we will have our fingers crossed for a more pre-nancy drew feel then this had. Adult Reader Reaction: This is a sweet and not totally predictable story. Although it likely to get more attention in February, it is a fun read all year around. My only quibble is the gap between the target reader (still developing) and the word choice (somewhat sophisticated - particularly the French words). Readers who DON'T know Fancy Nancy from her picture books will probably like this more than those who are familiar with the shorter stories. Pros: This early chapter book has "girl appeal" all over it. The story is cute, with just enough mystery to keep readers turning the page.
