I appreciate that it's inspired by Blade Runner but unlike other reviewers I feel the author successfully put a unique mark on the starting material. Dick struggled with as "What does it mean to be human? What does it mean to live?" throughout much of his writings. Rosa Montero "plays it safe", raising interesting questions or commentary without going too far down any one path to its logical or dismaying conclusion. Tears in Rain is a good read, a solid read, and one I'd recommend to family and friends looking for good SF without being too heady.
