This book was just... no.

It so obviously wasn't edited. Even I, with a serious lack in using the English language, could grasp that changing from 3rd to 1st person perspective in the middle of a paragraph is baaad. The book also could have been a lot shorter if the writer didn't insist on saying the same thing in two different ways every few pages. In the same paragraph.

His mind drifted back to the guy in the curtain room, and he felt his dick twitching in his pants. Riley was daydreaming about meeting the mystery man in the curtain room again.

...Mateo let loose as his own orgasm ripped through him and into Riley. Exploding at maximum speed, Mateo let out a loud groan and collapsed across Riley...

Exploding at maximum speed? Really?

I would like to say that the plot redeemed the bad writing, but it didn't. It was porn with just enough plot so it isn't PWP. And it was insta-love. And you'd think the assassin would know all kinds of cool assassiny things, like not to go camping/hiking when you know someone's trying to find you and kill you.

I'm just gonna stop here and say that this book was, in my honest opinion, a waste of time and money. Too bad I've bought the second book when I was buying the first. ( )

Warning: NO SHIFTERS. This is not a paranormal read. However there is a laughable attempt at an earth-shattering fortune telling. The whole 3 paragraphs of it. Not enough to excuse any of the fantasy/paranormal tags. ( )

This was overall a quick and fun read. As I really wasn't sure what to expect going in to this one, I was quite surprised when it grabbed me the way it did.

I have to admit though, I would have preferred some more bulk to it. I felt as if we were missing out on some bits and pieces. I would have loved more background on both of the MC's. We got snippets, but no follow through. There were a lot of sex scenes though. But as they were all nice and hot it wasn't too much of a hardship to read them *grin*

The characters grabbed me enough that I had trouble putting the book down, and I flew through reading it. It would have had an extra star if not for some editing issues that were really annoying me to be honest. ( )

OK its a relatively shorter story, audio was only 4 hours comparing to 7-10 hours I'm used to.
And since its shorter things happened fast. The sex and love. Way too much sex. This reads like a guilty pleasure. I wonder if the 'shifter' part of the series came later.
Would read the next book. ( )

This book contains so many things that I love like hot gay sex and secret agent type-ish action. I did like it, but I felt it could have been better. The storyline could have had a smoother flow. I do plan to continue reading the series. ( )
