I liked this book because of the characters. This book is based off of Sesame Street so the characters are really familiar. In the book, the only characters are Ernie, Maria and Burt. They weren’t very developed throughout the book but since they have a television show some may know the characters well enough. I also enjoyed the point of view through Ernie. He gets lost in P.C. Nickles Department Store, Maria gave Ernie a long talk about what to do if he were to get lost and just like that Ernie got lost and we read about the dilemma and how he remembers what to do. As he sat in the shoe department, Ernie was crying and his stomach felt like a stone because he thought that Maria would forget about him but as he pulled out his handkerchief to dry his eyes he is reminded what to do if he got lost. The big idea from this book is to stay clam and find an adult when you are lost. Ernie stayed calm and found a sales lady to help him find Maria. This book has a great lesson within it. ( )
