This is the perfect book for the beginning or advancing birder. Author Sally Roth tells with much humor the ins and out of how to make songbirds part of your outdoor scene. There are so many topics that she addresses, but the ones that I liked best were the most common types of birds I can find, the plants that attract these birds, and the food that I can buy or easily prepare at home for these birds. Color photos make bird identification easy. A bibliography in the back of the book tells where I can find more source material to read or where I can buy supplies such as native plants or bird feeders and feed. This lovely book now becomes part of my permanent book collection as I look forward to improving my backyard habitat for my songbird guests in years to come. ( )
