![]() Ainda não há conversas na Discussão sobre este livro. I’m glad I finally read (listened) to this, considering I’ve read most of Brown’s other books. This seems to be the big one from which almost all the others are rooted. It helped me look back and reconsider some defining situations in my life, so for that I’m grateful. ( ![]() Lots of convincing anecdotes, lots of lists that I could recognize myself in, lots of food for thought on how we work and live with others. No doubt one of the best books I've ever read. No doubt part of that is how it has affected me at this point in my life. Basic summary: the meaning of life is best discovered through connecting deeply with other people. And the key to connection is vulnerability. If you are looking for deep meaning and deep connection, this book is for you. An insightful glimpse at vulnerability, shame, and living wholeheartedly. I've learned a few methods I'd like to try in my teaching. One of those books that ought to be read, and then reread, and then reread again.
At times her [Brown's] suggestions sound like the satirical affirmations of the Stuart Smalley character from TV's Saturday Night Live: "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me." But she also offers good insights into how people don personal armor to shield themselves from vulnerability.
Based on twelve years of research, thought leader Dr. Brené Brown argues that vulnerability is not weakness, but rather our clearest path to courage, engagement, and meaningful connection. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
