It is informational and a great introduction when discussing things in space. I read this book to a first grade class and the students were engaged with many questions. Great class read. ( ) Floating In Space would be perfect to use when teaching about space. The book goes into great detail about what happens in a space shuttle. The reader gets to see a typical day in the life of an astronaut. Illustrations depict how astronauts eat food, go to the bathroom, sleep, exercise, and go into space. The book tells and shows what an astronaut does when they are outside their space shuttle. It also shows how the space shuttle gets home. I like that along with telling you, the pictures illustrate the path. The book defines gravity and goes into great detail doing so. It was written in words that are suitable for young children, but also can be enjoyed by older children. I would definitely incorporate this book into my lesson about space. "Floating in Space" is a good science book for young children because it explains gravities role on Earth, but it also details the lack of gravity in space and how astronauts adjust. The book gives great facts about the lack of gravity and how the astronauts adjust. For example, an astronaut on a typical space mission grows one to two inches in height due to the lack of gravity weighing down on the individual. The book also does a great job with the illustrations. The illustrations are of a young girl moving around in space and moving around the moon. The book details a mission into space, from launch to arrival back to planet Earth. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
