I really love this book for so many reasons. The first thought I had is that it brought back so many memories of playing outside with my family. Many of my memories formed are when I was younger and enjoyed being outside enjoying getting out of the house. Each poem is about all the different fun activities children can experience in the outdoors. This book of poem’s gives children ideas for activities to do outside and sparks their imagination in the great outdoors. The poem does a beautiful job displaying all the fun things I did as a child. For example, the poem “soup” described how kids made “soup” with water and stirred it with a ball point pen. I did the exact same thing as a child .I also really like how each poem is a specific different outdoor activity and written from a child's' perspective. These poems made me want to be outside playing on the sidewalk, blowing bubbles, rolling down a hill, and creating soup. I had mixed feelings about this book after reading it. I liked the book because it’s a very unique poem book for children. The language was descriptive and detailed. I like how the poems were organized in the pages by having a tittle for each small poem. I also liked how the poem was in first person and it was children talking. I liked how it can be relatable to students everyday life. The illustrations aligned well with the poems but it can be a little confusing when some of the sentences were on top of moving pictures. The pictures can help struggling or new readers by imaging what is going on but it could be too distracting. I didn’t like how it was written on top of moving pictures and how illustrations were more exciting from the written words. I think to keep the reader engage in poems is to really emphasis on the poems patterns. Although the pictures were a distraction, I think the author did a great job writing the poem in a story telling. It’s engaging for young students because the poems are relatable to their own life’s. The big idea of this poem book is to have students realize the beauty there is outdoors and there is much more then we can imagine. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha

The poems are very lyrical and go hand-in-hand with the bold and vibrant illustrations. I enjoyed the poetry of this book, and the theme that the poems were wrapped around. I love that the poems are fun and easy to read/understand for young readers, all the while promoting outdoor play!
