The premise, for one, which seems to take the premise of The Great Good Thing and expand on it so there was more conflict and plot. I loved the idea of a character wanting to leave his book, and falling in love with his reader. I really enjoyed the book characters and their personalities and hobbies that were at odds with the roles they play. And the illustrations were absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, that was about the end of my list of likes. The story was told in alternating chapters between the fairy tale book, Oliver, and Delilah. This worked fairly well at the beginning, but after awhile, the book chapters annoyed me. They didn't really add much to the plot and they seemed nothing more than filler. The other thing was that those filler chapters made no sense! The book supposedly takes place in a medieval-type setting. There was a castle, and people rode horses, etc. And then things like fire extinguishers and modern-day orthodontics appeared, which annoyed me because they were so out of place. And the ending! It was a HEA, but it was such a stupid HEA that if the reader really thought it out, turned into not a HEA. (view spoiler) Just, UGH. Sloppy writing and plotting. There are other books that have done the whole Book World thing loads better. I suggest people go read those. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
