Another great book/series by Rick Riordan. My only complaint is that we never get to really "know" the secondary characters (like Walt, Jaz, etc.), so I didn't feel a connection to them. Maybe because it's a trilogy and there just wasn't the page space, or maybe I've been spoiled by the two Percy Jackson series'.

Anyway, this book is a satisfying end to the trilogy with just enough loose ends to keep you wondering. There is a short story in the back of the third book where Carter meets Percy. I haven't read it yet, but I figure that it as well as the other two shorts( that I haven't read ,either) in the backs of two of the Heroes of Olympus books are going to tie up those loose ends. ( )

Un grupo de magos rebeldes, encabezados por Sarah Jacobi, nos han acusado a Sadie y a mí de haber provocado el caos y de que Set esté en libertad. Juran que acabarán con nosotros... De los dioses, mejor ni hablar: nadie sabe dónde se han metido, y los que quedan, como Ra, el mismísimo dios del sol, solo piensan en chupetear galletas, babear y tararear cancioncillas sin sentido... Nunca hemos estado tan solos y tan desesperados, solo nos queda una última oportunidad: capturar la sombra de Apofis. Se me olvidaba deciros que nadie hasta ahora lo ha conseguido, así que, si sale mal, no estaremos aquí para contarlo.

Buen final de la trilogía sobre la mitología egipcia. Desarrolla un ritmo trepidante hacia la última tercera parte del libro, muy de agradecer. Muy bien hilados los personajes junto al mundo mitológico. ( )

I would say overall not very good. You're better off just reading the first book and stopping.

I skimmed a lot.

There are aspects of the cultural dynamic, an American and a British-American in modern Egypt that are rather awkward. The only modern Egyptian with any prominence is Zia Rashid, but she serves mostly as a vessel for desire (a literal vessel in one case).

It's really unfortunate that the main well-developed non-deity Egyptian character is an evil ghost.

If this is adapted for television, I hope Zia gets a much richer treatment with a much more fully-developed character. ( )
