When we hear about a Serial Killer, we never consider the sex, we would immediately assume a man...right? but that's not always the case! Females are for the most part, the loving and caring protectors of our species and the ones that are more susceptible to danger. However, they are in fact the most dangerous because they are the least suspected of the Serial Killers. Like their male counterparts, they show no remorse and have no mercy for their victims. Should we still call them the weaker sex? "Women Who Kill is a journey into the minds of female serial killers--their motives, their acts, their thought process. Parker gives an overview and then delves into various stories about individual killers. I found myself horrified but also completely captivated."- Bestselling author, Michele Scott Women Who Kill explains and defines the various types of Female Serial Killers and contains over twenty criminal dossiers, including:Gertrude BaniszewskiMargie BarfieldMartha BeckLizzie BordenJudias BuenoanoChristine FallingCaril Ann Fugate and Charles Starkweather (Couple)Delfina and Maria de Jesus Gonzalez (Sisters)Karla Homolka and Paul Bernardo (Wife and Husband)Dorothea PuenteMarybeth TinningRosemary and Fred West (Wife and Husband) "If you're looking for some gruesome, real-life stories of deadly women, look no further. Parker has collected, and documented, tales of murder and mayhem from the, uh, fairer sex. Hard to believe some people can do such heinous acts. A mind-boggling collection" - Alan Orloff… (mais)

This book was, at least, very informative. It felt more like reading the Reader's Digest than a proper book. It explains a bit of the nature and behavior of serial killers in a relatively detailed report, mentioning several famous murderers. An okay reading for a free eBook. ( )

Thankfully, this was a free book checked out from the Amazon Prime Library. The topic is fascinating to me but the book was so poorly executed. The stories were not researched well, he repeated one in two different chapters - at length; almost word for word.

In the middle of the chapters, he would use quotation marks to enter his own opinion. Or, he would say - Authors Note: I'm not proud they're from my country.
OR
"She had the worst luck? hmmmm." (Yes, that is in there. Lowercase "h" and all).

A quick internet search provided many more details to stories he claimed had no additional knowledge.

Overall, I'd say this book needs some serious re-working because enough people are intrigued by serial killers and their stories for this to be a much better book than it is. It's clear that eBooks have brought forward waves of less-talented authors in much bigger/more accessible ways. ( )

Society has a hard time believing that women committed these atrocities, and consequently women are likely to receive lighter sentences than their male counterparts. A couple of the women mentioned have either been paroled or will be soon. Recommended for all true-crime collections, especially those libraries that have R.J. Parker's book, as it will serve as a good companion.

While the short, lethal careers of serial killers such as Jeffrey Dahmer and Andrew Cunanan terrorize the public and provide morbid inspiration for the entertainment industry, few people realize that it is the female serial killer, seldom heard of, who deserves most to be feared. Women Who Kill provides startling information about the female serial murderer, who is shown to be far more deadly and determined, difficult to apprehend, and complexly motivated than her male counterpart. By examining these women's backgrounds, motives and methods of killing, the book sheds new light on dozens of cases of murder and uncovers callous crimes and passions gone awry.

Kudos to R.J. Parker for taking the time and effort to present the truth as close to the bone as he could get.
