Seth becomes friends with a family down the street and falls in love with their daughter Amy. When grandmother dies of a stroke, he returned to his emotionally distant family. In high school, Seth discovers he has talents in swimming and selling drugs to his friends. Seth decides he needs $10000.00 to find Amy who has moved to California.  A tale of love, madness and salvation. We follow the life of Seth McGrath, a boy discarded by his parents, blamed for the crime of burning the family home when they know he did not have anything to do with the fire. Seth tinkers in building things and exists in a world where he “watches” but does not connect with others. When he is shipped off to live with Grandmother in inner-city Philadelphia of 1965 he experiences Roman Catholic superstition, custom and spirituality. Grandmother ignores racial issues of the time, and Seth opens himself to friends. When Grandmother suffers a stroke, he is thrown back to the opposite world of his pill popping debutante mother and dysfunctional Dr. Frankenstein father. A downward spin runs into a terrifying adventure. The young man makes every terrible choice in his attempt to locate his childhood true love. Seth will steal, arrange betting fights between homeless men, sell drugs to kids at school, and harm anyone who bullies him or makes fun of his horrible acne. Only a guardian angel can pull him up from this dark journey.
