The moral is a great one to learn, and the pictures are fun and engaging. Mrs. Bear wakes up from hibernation early in order to plan a surprise for Mr. Bear, and he has a surprise waiting for her as well. This is a sweet book for young children, that can teach them about the celebration of Valentine's Day. Parents can also talk about love and kindness with their children. Mama Bear wants to give Papa Bear a Valentine's surpirse. She works and works while she is supposed to be hibernating but can not seem to wake him up!
