Excerpts from the writings Margaret Fell, often called "The Mother of Quakerism," later the wife of George Fox. This pamphlet includes Margaret Fell's own narration of her life as a Quaker, and passages from her letters and epistles to Quakers, and her tract on Women Speaking that justifies the preaching and speaking of women in Quaker meeting. It is full of information for anyone interested in early Quakers, since she was an early convert and co-founder of the organization of Quakerism. She took on such matters as how to provide for the early Quaker missionaries and their families, how to support Quakers through the intense suffering of the early persecutions, and founding the women's meetings for business. As well as setting up practical arrangements, she wrote letters of encouragement and counsel to individuals and meetings. Hugh Barbour provides additional interesting information aboutt the life of this courageous and powerful woman. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
