The kidnapping case of an 8-year-old in the freezing dead of winter of a small Minnesotan town is interesting enough, but I got tired of the on again, off again budding relationship between the local cop (male) and the out-of-town agent (female) who both have chips of various sizes on their shoulders, are lonely, but cannot bring themselves to have another person in their lives. I get that this kind of job is particularly isolating and thus tricky to form a relationship in, but it just got too repetitive, leading to loose ends in other areas of the case. ( ) DEER LAKE ES UN PEQUEÑO PUEBLO DE MINESSOTA EN EL QUE TODOS LOS VECINOS SE CONOCEN Y EL CRIMEN ES ALGO QUE SOLO SE VE EN LOS NOTICIARIOS DE TELEVISIÓN. PER LA ILUSIÓN DE LA SEGURIDAD QUEDA DESTRUIDA CUANDO JOSH KIRKWOOD, DE OCHO AÑOS DESAPARECE DEL CAMPO DE HOCKEY MIENTRAS ESPERA A SU MADRE. LO ÚNICO QUE ENCUENTRA LA POLICIA ES LA BOLSA CON SUS EPRTENENCIAS , Y EN SU INTERIOR UNA NOTA QUE REZA: "LA IGNORANCIA NO ES INOCENCIA SINO PECADO". A CADA HORA QUE PASA, LA BÚSQUEDA SE JOSH ADQUIERE UNA INTENSIDAD DIFÍCIL DE SOPORTAR. PARA MEGAN O´MALLEY , EL CASO SE CONVIERTE EN LA OPORTUNIDAD DE SABER SI LOGRARÁ INTRODUCIRSE EN EL MUNDO MASCULINO DE LA POLICIA LOCAL. PARA MITCH HOLT, ES EL ESPANTOSO RECORDATORIO DEL CRIMEN QUE DESTROZÓ SU VIDA ANTES DE TRASLADARSE A DEER LAKE. JUNTOS LUCHARAN POR RESOLVERLO, Y APRENDERÁN A AMARSE, MIENTRAS UN PSICÓPATA ACECHA PREPARANDO EL SIGUIENTE MOVIMIENTO DE UNA PARTIDA EN LA QUE SOLO ÉL CONOCE LAS REGLAS. When an eight-year old boy goes missing from a small Minnesota town in the dead of winter, Special Agent Megan Malloy works to assist Mitch Holt, the town's chief of police, in locating him. She's newly promoted to the position as the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension's (BCA) regional agent and as the first woman in that role, she's also got a lot to prove. Be forewarned that this is a two-book commitment as all is not resolved by the end of the story, which is a bit unfair. However, I had planned to read the second book, "Guilty as Sin" anyway but now, curiosity demands that I do so. Still, this book is worth it if you're interested in mystery, suspense, romance and a somewhat literary approach to the very many characters in this story. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
