( ) I read the third book in this series and couldn't resist coming back to start from the beginning. Seewt Tea and Secrets doesn't disappoint. It's a mixture of finding lost love, sweet romance and a little bit of a mystery thrown in. The descriptions are delightful, the dialogue smart and the whole tone of the story leaves you wanting more - luckily for the reader there are multiple books in this series. The danger adds to the plot and makes the Happily Ever After all the happier. I won this book through the GoodReads First Reads program. I'm a big fan of mysteries. I enjoy the twists and turns of complex plots that all come together in the end. I enjoy trying to solve the story before the protagonist does, and being pleasantly surprised if my theories are proven wrong. There's something intensely satisfying about a good mystery, well told. While this story wasn't a complex mystery - it's fairly evident where it's going from the beginning - it was still very satisfying seeing it all play out. I've seen this book shelved as "cozy mystery" and that's exactly what it is. It's a cozy book to read over the summer, sipping tea and eating cookies. It's something you can relax into like a favorite pair of slippers. I normally don't go for these sorts of stories, with the exception of [a: Jennifer Crusie|19005|Jennifer Crusie|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1295982567p2/19005.jpg] who's a worthy guilty pleasure, but Adam's Grove reminded me so much of places I grew up visiting frequently in West Virginia, and later, Virginia that I couldn't help but enjoy it. It's a picture perfect Southern town with the sensibilities to match. Don't we all know someone we love as much as Pearl, growing up in such a culture? Don't we all wish we knew someone as nice as Garrett? By the end of the book, though the plot was fairly predictable and the heroine rather silly at times with the groan-worthy decisions she made, I found myself wanting to read more of the books in it. Another guilty pleasure? Perhaps, but there's no real guilt or shame about it. Everyone enjoys a book like this now and again, and I'm happy I know just the author to go to for more of it. Great cozy mystery. :) sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
