A quick and easy read and a fun novella in the Caster Chronicles series. ( )

Dark Dream --

Short, but well put together. The story of Link but still told by Lena and Ethan, as explained by the POV from the very beginning. Which is a very odd and interesting way to do it, having the story of Link told by someone who isn't there. Once again making the narration and doubled story telling questionable, but beautiful.

The way it lets us get hints Mason and Ridely that the narrator looking back can point the listener/reader to but that people in that scene and moment might have missed entirely.

Book Three Preview --

I didn't read this one because I will be reading the book so soon. ( )

Short little book that I would have been a good teaser for book three. But I already had book three when I read this one. So, if you have access to book three don't bother with this one. It only has a short story about Link. That is good, but not worth the trouble really. ( )

This story didn't add much to the world of the Casters. It basically follows Links first days as a "Linkubus". It's mildly entertaining, but Link has never been my favorite character.

Spoilers: at the end Link runs into an old enemy and we get a cryptic message. Not much build up to the event and no real plot otherwise. Still, it's fun to be in the Caster world.

Probably the best thing about this story is it has the beginning of book 3 at the end. I couldn't bring myself to read it because I knew it would make it that much harder to wait for book 3! ( )
