This is an early Harlequin manga/comic of a trad Regency romance. It's not a great example of the type but I enjoyed it. The artwork is simple but I got caught up in the story. One of the funny things about the manga-ized Harlequins is that the language becomes quite modern, but where that would annoy me in a novel, here it fits with the art. Recommended with reservations. ( )

If you like costume dramas and manga, this is a good one.

I recently rediscovered Harlequin Comics. Around 2006, Harlequin had a line called Harlequin Pink/Harlequin Ginger Blossom Manga that had some comics (such as Idol Dreams) that I really enjoyed. But I'm guessing that they didn't sell too well and they stopped the line. The ladies who like Harlequin romances are not usually the same ones who like manga, and vice versa. Anyhow, lucky for me, they are continuing to release the comics on Amazon in ebook format. I like print comics better, but beggars can't be choosers.

As for the downside, I don't like that this comic is broken into part 1 and part 2. I actually didn't realize this was only part 1 until I was near the end of the comic and the romance really hadn't progressed any. Personally, I would have paid more to have a whole ebook and not two parts. ( )
