This was surprisingly dull and lacking in creativity. The pictures are sweet but a few stories about Patrick the bear who acts like a toddler are not particularly compelling. I like the TOON books that have more substance to appeal to struggling older readers.

Summary Patric in A Teddy Bear's Picnic and Other Stories by Geoffrey Hayes. In this book children will see four little stories, not all the same length, featuring a small bear named Patrick, who picnics with his mother, deals with a bully, has a nap and then another nap. The picnics include ideal plans and bugs and rain. Some nap rhetoric and his mama insisting that a nap is needed and a good idea.

Personal This was a cute comic. I found it online and read it to my younger boys and they loved it. The pictures were very cute and it taught kids to listen to mommy.

Extension idea This book is good for pre-k through 2nd grade.
Teachers could use this book to get children to take there nap in school.
