After reading a newspaper article about a 10-year-old boy making money by baking and selling cookies, Max Malone decides he’d like to get rich quick, too. He calls his friend Gordy over to replicate the cookie success. After two ill-fated baking attempts, the boys decide that they’ll need another plan to make a million dollars fast. Hilarity ensues as the boys try – and fail – at numerous other business attempts. Meanwhile, Max’s 6-year-old neighbor Austin is busy making money – and lots of it – using his own business savvy.

Through this book, children are introduced to numerous economic concepts, such as markets and loans, all the while having fun reading about Max’s various mishaps in the world of business.
