This was my other aquatic mammals Storytime book! It was the perfect length for a Storytime book and had a great repetitive sound that the kids could perform every couple pages of the otter snoring LOUDLY. They had fun with this! They also found it funny when the other otters came to find Bernard in the Zoo staff cart.

This book also has great facial expressions for emotions so I had them guess how the characters were feeling at different parts based on their expressions. Then I was able to talk about at the end how sometimes there are things about the people we love that get on our nerves or are annoying, but because we love them and still want to be around them and with them, we have to accept those little things along with everything else just like they have to do for us.

I was also able to point out how sea otters sleep on their backs on the ocean and sometimes hold paws not to float away from one another. There’s also fun moments where the kids can guess what animal will show up next with Bernard because it shows a small part of the animal on one page and then the whole animal on the next page. It was a really great interactive Storytime book, would definitely recommend it! ( )

An otter snores and the otters tell him to stop snoring. He goes to all the other animal pens and tries to sleep, but gets told to stop snoring. He goes to leave and the otters come for him because they missed him and realized how unimportant snoring was.

This book is about a group of otters in the zoo with a very loud snoring friend, Bernard. Poor Bernand bothered everyone with his loud snores that he got kicked out of all the places he slept at. He even tried to sleep in all kinds of different places like the lake, a fountain, and a puddle, but he still got kicked out. Poor thing felt bad about himself. Until one day his otter friends realized they can not sleep without Bernard! This can be a great lesson to teach children about acceptance and not to be mean just because one does something different that they cannot help. It is not his fault he snores, and he felt bad about himself. I really liked how the author made his otter friends come back for him and accepted his snoring. ( )

Bernard the Otter snores, and Grumpy Giles has had enough. Bernard tries to find another place at the zoo where he can sleep without his snores bothering everyone, and eventually decides he has to leave altogether - but the other otters, even Grumpy Giles, come after him and persuade him to stay.
