This novel is a biography of Lincoln's life. It talks about his marriage to Mary and the lives of their four sons. It tells about three who died at early ages and one Robert who lives to adulthood then also died. This book also talks about his presidency as the 16th president of the United States.
As an activity I think it would be helpful to have the children do a play in the classroom. This would be a good way to get them involved. I think another activity outside of school could be to give them homework to search the Internet and see the different things they can find on Lincoln.
Over all I would have to say that it was a good book. I enjoy learning about history and the former leaders of our nation. This was a very emotional biography of Lincoln's life and his sons and very interesting to read. I believe in the future I would enjoy using this book in a classroom. ( )
